2017 Bargain Alert: Laquon Treadwell

Salute: Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Treadwell appeared in only nine games for the Vikings this past season and played only 80 offensive snaps, making him the rare first-round wide receiver in recent years who did not earn a significant role right away.

Treadwell suffered injuries to a hamstring, ankle, and thumb over the course of the 2016 season.  He finished with one reception, equalling the output of quarterback Sam Bradford.

Still, Treadwell IS a first-round draft pick, and those guys get chance after chance after chance.  You merely have to look across the Vikings locker room at Cordarrelle Patterson to see the proof of that.

Treadwell was drafted for an unsightly $17 this past season as Franchise Fantasy Football owners were willing to take a chance that another rookie wide receiver would pay dividends; i.e. Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, Jr, et al.  There is no way on earth Treadwell approaches $7 much less $17 this summer.  Thus, you should be able to acquire him very inexpensively and be able to extend cheaply as well.  If Treadwell can develop into a solid #2 across from Stephon Diggs, you would have a valuable commodity, indeed.
