How the Tennessee Titans Got Better at Tackle Football

Salute: Nashville Tennessean

How did the Cowboys get better?  How do most teams do it?  High-quality big guys.  John Madden was a believer in building through the offensive and defensive lines.  Tennessee GM Jon Robinson must have been paying attention; his selection of tackle Jack Conklin is already paying dividends.  For the team and for him, personally.

First-year Titans general manager Jon Robinson, who traded the top overall pick in the draft to the Rams, then traded with the Browns to move up to select Conklin, was promoted to executive vice president/general manager on Thursday.

Robinson earned the promotion in less than a year.

I wonder why more teams don't go the way the Cowboys and now the Titans have gone.  When you can run out five guys who can protect the QB and open holes in the run game, it just makes the skill players that much better.  Would Ezekiel Elliott have had the same kind of season running behind Seattle's line?  Could Dak Prescott have gotten Dallas the one-seed behind any other o-line?  Would DeMarco Murray's resurgence have happened had he stayed in Philadelphia?

I like the Titans club.  They're headed in the right direction.  An extra outside receiver or two combined with Delanie Walker at TE and Murray and Henry at RB is going to make Marcus Mariota a very, very dangerous man.
