Tom Brady’s is under contract with the Patriots through the 2019 season, but the team is already getting a head start on extension talks. The five-time Super Bowl winner is in early talks with the Pats about a new deal, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald tweets.
Brady will be 40 this season. And while he says he wants to play into his mid-40's, his wife wanted him to retire after the Super Bowl. To me, this is a wink-and-a-nudge reward for Brady's unselfishness in giving up money to keep his team intact. Which, also to me, is the action of a big-time winner. Whatever money Brady can get, he damned well deserves because there aren't too many guys running around with five Super Bowl rings.
As for playing into his mid-40's, well, if it were me, I'd be spending more time with Gisele and the kids. And I have more experience with being in my mid-40's than Brady.
