Notice the three teams that show up on all those lists: the Patriots, Steelers and Packers. What do they have in common? Quarterbacks, and stability in the front office and at head coach.
Two teams are working very hard to join these teams: Tennessee and Oakland. The common denominator to all these franchises is coaching and front-office stability. And Hall-of-Fame-level quarterbacking helps, too. Are Marcus Mariota and Derek Carr headed toward the levels of Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers? Certainly within the context of their franchises. But, barring injury and with continuing growth, they sure can be.
