Knowing that they are in need of a new starting quarterback, the Texans were mentioned as a possible destination for Romo. One possible scenario suggested that the Texans will acquire Romo in a deal involving JJ Watt.
Dallas would jump on that like I would jump on a wallet I found on the street. Alas, that just ain't happening unless Dallas throws in five number ones, a handful of number twos, Reunion Tower, the Rangers, Six Flags over Texas, a Watt-sized pile of cash, and a fleet of street taco trucks to be named later.
With the Texans out of the picture, at least for now, the veteran QB is now being linked to New York Jets, thanks to Fox Sports analyst Troy Aikman. Aikman said that teams in need of a quarterback like the New York Jets should take a look at Romo in the offseason.
If there's anyone who needs a QB, it's the Jets. But, if I'm Tony Romo, I would want a better chance of winning.
Finally, nobody is going to trade for Romo. Not at his salary. They will wait until Dallas cuts him and then sign him for less than his current rate. The idea that anyone will offer Dallas anything is pure folly.
